As mentioned in Desktop vs. Documents, one can create folders on their Desktop screen or in their Documents folders. The process is the same. At first the process may seem daunting, however with practice it will become second nature.
Remember, you can create…
- a file which may be a document, image, spreadsheet, presentation slides, video or audio sound track
- folders that gather related files in one place
- folders within folders
If you look at the image below, you can see there is a folder called recipes. Within that folders there are two sub-folders—chicken and chocolate plus numerous other files. And…within the sub-folders, individual related recipes are can be found. Looking for a specific chicken recipe becomes much easier when the time is taken to organize individual files saved to a device.
So…do not waste your time at the lake this summer hunting for a specific file among hundreds on your device. Download our directions for efficiently creating and organizing files on both your Desktop screen and in your Documents folder. Click here: Folders on a Mac
